There are several near shore wrecks that can be accessed from small boats without any trouble. They are well worth visiting. Farther out on the lake there are many more wrecks that are best visited in charter boats.
The dock at Erieau provides a good scrounge dive especially around the pier. The nearby wrecks include the "Lycoming", just off Erieau and usually marked; the tugboat "The Robert", and the "Colonial" which was only located in 1991.
The peninsula itself is unique in that it has folded back on itself and created a sheltered bay.
There are numerous trails through the hardwood forests and bog, and plenty of beach area. The quiet towns surrounding the site provide for plenty of rest and relaxation.
